Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach fifth grade in Central New Jersey. My school is one of high-need, in a low socio-economic area. My class is comprised of above average and gifted students, who enjoy learning and crave knowledge.

They especially enjoy using the Internet as a resource to learn, and get so excited when I incorporate interactive lessons and "virtual field trips" into my daily instruction. Our problem has been with the audio component because the volume on my laptop isn't loud enough to project the audio portion of the lessons; so students have been straining to listen, or we sometimes abandon the lesson altogether. This of course is very disappointing to us all.

If a great set of computer speakers was available to our class we would be able to enjoy all the interesting and exciting resources available to us on the Internet.
