One Microscope for All!

My students need a digital microscope and two prepared slide sets to demonstrate simple biology concepts.

My seventh graders have a hard time being engaged with "book work." I teach grade 7 life science in a district with extreme budget constraints.

Most of my biology equipment has been here since the teachers were students, and those things which still are working in the class are about as alien as they could be for my students.

This year, I have bought a laptop and a projector, and am getting a FANTASTIC response from my students. Having multimedia presentations, powerpoints, and the ability to show pictures has made a HUGE difference. With this small investment in a digital microscope/camera, my students will be able to see REAL biology at work, presented right there on the wall! Traditional microscopes are not only expensive, but they require class time in teaching students their use and care. With a digital microscope, viewing will be intuitive and easy for my digital native seventh graders (it is, after all, just a fancy high powered digital camera!)
