Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am teaching 4th grade at a low SES arts school. The students work extremely hard, but lack the essential materials to support them in their learning. Everyone is been hit hard by the economy including families, schools, and the teachers. I have many ideas on how to enhance learning and increase engagement, but I desperately need some essentials.

Remember the kid without the backpack, binder, dividers, and daily school materials? I have a class full of loving kids and families, who just can't afford the basics this year. Unfortunately, the situation is the same with myself and the whole school.

My students enjoy color-coding their spelling patterns. My students breath art. They engage in reading through creative writing and embrace competition. They challenge themselves with multiplication, division, and fluency timed tests. Help replenish our diminishing/broken supplies.

Keep it simple; give a writing composition, colors, and a timer to a student. Daily learning will continue to soar!
