My school library needs 13 Sylvan Dell books in paperback.

We love reading AR books at our school. As a second grade teacher this year, I was able to get a one year grant from Sylvan Dell for their e-books program. It is an awesome site where students, teachers, and parents can read e-books on line in English and Spanish! Once a week my literacy class reads an e-book from Sylvan Dell. They love the beautiful illustrations and rich vocabulary. After reading the e-book several times, the students are ready to take the AR quiz. What a wonderful feeling - to be confident and ready to pass an AR quiz.

I have a diverse class. Many of the students in my literacy class have a difficult time reading or struggle with the vocabulary because they are English Second Language students. I would love for all my students to be able to read these rich AR e-books at home. Sadly, many of the students from my school who could benefit from these e-books do not have computers at home. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the students in my school could check out Sylvan Dell books and read them at home?

My solution is to order Sylvan Dell paperback books for our media center. Students could read and enjoy the books at home. Parents could be more involved in their child's reading progress. The children will love these great books and read more. This is the "Silver Lining" to our problem - Ar books in our students hands.

"Every Cloud has a Silver Lining." Please be the "silver lining" to our dilemma. Help our students who struggle to read become confident and independent readers.
