I teach 1st grade in the inner city. I currently have 20 students enrolled in my class. Many of my students enjoy reading and working on leap pads, however they come from low income homes and are enrolled in a low income school. It is my hope that although they already face many obstacles once they step into the classroom they should no longer have to worry about such obstacles.

Recently many of our leapfrog leap pads were ruined due to the years of student use and wear and tear. Since I work in a low income school the materials will not be replaced. I would love to offer my new students the opportunity to work on the leap pads. I love the joy I see on their faces as they are so engaged in the story as they are intently listening and following along. Your donation would make many of my students dreams come true. Once they are in my presence I desire for them to focus on being educated and not to worry about what we do or do not have in the classroom (to make it conducive to learning). Poverty does not mean deprivation. Where there is opportunity there is success.

A full set of leappads, headphones and books would be greatly appreciated and would attribute to student success. Your gift/donation would help my students reading to be more engaging. Your gift will help in purchasing the set and the students would have a full functioning leap pad station. The leap pads will be used daily in order for each child to have a chance to use the materials. They will also allow students to connect to lessons, increase reading fluency and to encourage overall student learning.

Your help and generosity will help in making my students' reading more interactive. One caring person truly makes the difference and I know many are concerned with the education of young minds.
