From the moment the kits arrived, my students were filled with excitement, eagerly unpacking the materials and asking questions about how everything works. One student exclaimed, \"We get to build real bridges today!\" while another immediately started experimenting with circuits in our electronics kit. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was wonderful to see them so engaged in hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new resources in small groups and whole-class activities, allowing students to explore concepts through building, testing, and problem-solving. One memorable moment was when a team successfully engineered a working bridge using craft materials and connectors. They carefully tested its strength and made adjustments to hold more weight, learning firsthand about trial, error, and iteration. Students are now collaborating more, asking thoughtful questions, and applying critical thinking in ways I've never seen before. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate these materials into upcoming projects that focus on physics and engineering challenges, coding experiments, and environmental science investigations. Students will continue to use the resources to test hypotheses, collect data, and solve real-world problems, building both knowledge and confidence along the way. Your generosity has already made a big difference in our classroom and in my students' confidence as readers. Each student now has a personalized binder filled with phonics activities, decodable passages, and fluency trackers that match their reading level. During our literacy block, we use the binders for small-group practice, partner reading, and independent learning.\r\n One of my favorite moments was when a student who had struggled with decoding finally read a full passage aloud and exclaimed, \"I did it!\" The look of pride on his face said it all. Since introducing the binders, students are more engaged, motivated, and confident when reading. They love tracking their progress, helping one another, and celebrating small victories. I've seen real growth in their decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills, as well as in their enthusiasm for learning. \r\nThese binders have also made it easier to individualize instruction, giving every child a chance to grow at their own pace. Our next goal is to expand the binders with nonfiction texts and comprehension questions to further strengthen students' reading skills. The calming space has been a great addition to our class. Not only have the students in my room loved going in the calming corner but they have needed less and less prompts to go and take a minute, which is HUGE! Because of your generosity, students are able to recognize their emotions and take steps to independently use their coping skills.\r\n\r\nMy favorite part about your donation is being able to teach more SEL (social emotional learning) lessons! This has created some really good dialogue in our class and students have been learning about their emotions as well as others. One of the most impactful statements about our calming corner was from a student and he said \"wow Ms. Henry our tent is so beautiful and I take breaks to get out of the red zone\". I know it's not much but it means the world to me that these students feel safe and supported in their emotions at school. Your contribution has had an incredible impact on my kindergarten students, and I cannot thank you enough for making this opportunity possible.\r\nAs you may know, many of our students come from challenging backgrounds in an inner-city community, where emotional and social support is essential to their success. With your donation, we have been able to provide essential tools, resources, and activities that help our young learners build strong emotional skills, manage their emotions, and develop healthy relationships with their peers. These skills are fundamental not only for their academic success but for their overall well-being.\r\nThe materials and programs you've provided have already begun to make a visible difference in the classroom. Students are more engaged, more aware of their emotions, and better able to express themselves in a positive way. They've become more empathetic toward one another, and it's been wonderful to see them grow in confidence and kindness as they learn these important skills.\r\nYour support has truly empowered my students, helping them develop resilience and emotional intelligence at a time when these traits are needed most. This project has not only had a positive impact on their academic performance but also on their overall social and emotional development. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and commitment to making a difference in the lives of children in need.\r\nThank you again for your partnership in enriching the lives of my students. The students are excited to have the new books and hear new stories as well. They are so happy to share the ways that they have been kind or have shown compassion. As well as when someone has extended compassion and kindness to them. They now look for ways to be kind. \r\n I have also been able to develop a clam down area where students can sit with their emotions using one of our new fidgets, or a new book, to clam themselves down. \r\n It goes without saying they they really enjoy choosing prizes for when they have earned 10 points for demonstrating kindness or compassion.
