Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"Look Mom, It's me!" I teach in a low-income inner-city school. Many of our families are primary Spanish speakers.

Nothing bridges a language gap better than photographs of loved ones. When my students create projects that include photographs to show families, the families feel much more connected to our class. This connection creates a partnership that translates to better student learning.

To help build those great family partnerships, we need a digital still camera to take pictures, a photo printer to produce the photos and print supplies.

Your help will ensure that my student's families become active and involved participants in their children's education. Research shows that strong family/school partnerships create happier and more productive students.
