Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hi. I am a proud New York Public School teacher. I have taught in a low-poverty community for twelve years now and am always amazed at how my third grade gifted and talented students are so eager and do so well with less than others. They are thirsty to learn and give their all every day.

But, there is something that stands in my students way....storage space. Our classroom has tables not desks. Having tables instead of desks has basically done away with student "desk" storage - a place where students can store their notebooks, books and basic supplies. We have had to use Ziploc baggies and crates to store their notebooks, putting them out of hands reach and further cluttering and crowding our classroom.

You can help my students have the storage they need, de-clutter our classroom, aid them in becoming more organized and more efficient throughout their day by donating a storage center on wheels. With these storage centers each student will have their own shelf to store their supplies. Supplies will be kept safe, organized and at easy reach. We can get rid of the Ziploc baggies and crates that rip, break, collect dust and simply create more clutter.

How does the saying go - a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind? With your generous donation you will make it possible for my students to begin the school year with an organized desk/table and an organized mind. Thank you.
