Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"If your money has run out, why not mine some gold in California?" Every year the Fourth grade students at our CA arts charter school show enthusiasm and intrigue in the Gold Rush era. To help build upon this unit, we step into The Great Horn Spoon and perform a musical called Gold Dust or Bust.

We're an independent arts charter school that relies heavily on what the teacher can bring in (ideas and money).

Students need literature books in the classroom and the more ways we can let them use their multiple intelligences in learning, the more success they will show in their reading skills. In conjunction with Gold Dust or Bust, the students will perform their own musical, "pan for gold", write miner's post cards, and venture as a 49er through a simulated webQuest.

There is no greater joy than teaching a child to enjoy reading for the sake of pleasure.
