I am a first grade teacher working in a high needs community. The children are terrific, and I enjoy being with them each day. The majority of the students receive free lunch. Supplies at our school are at a minimum.

The children sit at tables which have a very small place to put their books. Sometimes we pile our books in the center of the table, or store them in baskets. Whenever the children need their books, they need to be given out which takes time away from their learning. The books and folders that they do manage to squeeze inside their desks get folded or the covers rip off. They just can not seem to get organized. Another problem that we have is when we meet at the carpet for instruction, we use chart paper. Many of the children complain that they can not see, and sometimes have difficulty following along.

I am requesting the Premium Seat Pockets from Childcraft, so the children will be able to store their books and folders in an organized way. When the students need their materials, it will be right there at their finger tips. I am also requesting an easel for our carpet area. Many of our lessons are done at the carpet, using chart paper. Having the wide easel my students will be able to see what is written on the board, and follow the lesson more easily. The best part is that we will be saving paper.

Your donation will make it possible for my students to have their books, folders and pencils at thier fingertips. We don't have to waste time giving out books. Their supplies will be neat, and last the entire year. Thank you in advance for your donation!
