Photos are a great way for students to document their experiences, illustrate their writings, and learn how to incorporate new technology into their learning experiences. Digital cameras might be available to most of us, but not here. I teach third grade at a high needs school. My wonderful students are very eager to learn and succeed but achieving success is not always easy. Textbook teaching is important but can be boring, which is why it is imperative that they have real life experiences in the classroom. For this reason, I would like the students to have access to a digital camera. Using this technology, their field trips, and classroom activities will be presented on the "Making Memories In Third Grade" wall and on a power point presentation. Students will also create and enjoy a book capturing their third grade moments. I can hear them years from now as they turn the pages of this book "Oh yeah, I remember..." Our memories is what makes us special. The ideas for a using a digital camera in the classroom are endless. Please help me provide the students with an opportunity to show their uniqueness through photography and give them something special to be proud of.
