Would it not be wonderful if we lived in a world of love....love....love! I remember when the Beatles from England thought so! Those were some great times. I teach 4th grade students who love to read. They have enjoyed their Time for Kids this year and asked me if we were going to get them again. They wait each month so they can read about what is going on in the World around them. As their teacher, I have seen a change in how they think now about people in need.

My students have become aware of the suffering of other children. This year they chose 3 charities to give too. We saved our pennies and cashed them in. They read up on the current events in the Time for Kids and Weekly Readers. Then they would research the charity. Each time we saved $20.00 for each event. (This is a lot of money to my kids) What was so neat about it was every time we would give to the children, they would remind me over and over that we had to count the pennies and get the money in the mail so the children would not have to suffer or go hungry. In other words, it got their minds off of their problems and their home life, while they focused on others.

When my students became aware of others, I saw a difference in some of them. You could tell that they were trying to find a way to make a difference in children's lives. I really felt emotional when some of them were so thoughtful. The magazines introduced my students to world events, projects, success stories, and much, much, more. My students will benefit with the continued use of Time for Kids and Weekly Readers. They became enriched with the art of serving others without asking for anything in return. I really loved that! So.....here I am once again to ask for help with the purchase of these magazines.

Just think how much you will enlighten children's lives for a full year of World Events, Projects to help children, Success Stories relating to their everyday problems, and most of all, enhancing their ability to read and write with meaning! Thank you for your time and have a great day!
