Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The students are inspired by reading but can never find the book they want! I teach third grade students at a dual-immersion elementary school. The students are instructed in both Spanish and English and become fully bilingual and bi-literate by the time they exit the program.

At the beginning of the year my students didn't have enough books to read in Spanish. Now we finally have the supplies we need, but the books are so unorganized! Students are really excited about reading and all the great books we have now. But we have a hard time finding books at their level that they want to read. My students need 30 book boxes to organize the books in our classroom library.

If the students could have 30 book boxes we could organize the books according to ability level and interest. Students would be able to more easily find books at a level they could understand and books that they truly want to read.

Your help will make it possible for my students to be able to find the books they want to read and stop being discouraged from the "hunt" they have to go through to find a specific book. We need your help!
