Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Dear Kind Benefactor, The South Bronx is ground zero for childhood poverty in America. We have phenomenal kids but they are not getting what they need when it comes to having enough books to read. The budget of our school has been cut three times since last year and our classroom library desperately needs some support! Our students love to read but their families struggle to buy them books. The "Dating Game" series is extremely popular with the girls and I've included enough copies so that groups of girls can read and discuss these books together. This grant also has books for many different kinds of readers which is what our classroom is blessed with. The Eyewitness non-fiction books range from one on World War II to the Titanic. This grant also includes four copies of the final book in the series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". Students go nuts over this series and are begging me for this book. We have a great diversity of interests in our class and now we need diverse books to keep pushing our students to excel. We need your generous help to get these books in the hands of our students. A gift of these books to our kids could take them to the next level in reading skills and comprehension. Each new reading level is a step towards success in life. Please invest in our kids! They are wonderful and are ready for someone like you to help them achieve their powerful potential! A donation of these books will send positivity throughout our school community. It will be because of you and your kind heart that our kids continued to read and progress. Thank you and god bless!
