Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach Pre-k to 5th grade students, in Physical Education. The students come from a variety of backgrounds, and ethnic groups.

In our school district, we have limited access to equipment that aids in the development of hand-eye coordination. Most of our equipment is unsafe, and outdated. Therefore, it is difficult to provide the students with a new, and safe atmosphere in which to practice hand-eye coordination skills.

The resources that I will need are made of materials that are safe for the students to use. The students will be able to practice their skills in both a team, game setting, and on an individual basis. Several of my students have never been given the opportunity to practice croquet, cup stacking, or scatterball. By providing them with this type of equipment, they will feel safe while using it. They will also be able to understand, and expand on their hand-eye coordination skills, if they choose to continue to play sports during their lives.

Your contribution will be a valuable asset to the students in our school. They enjoy Physical Education, and look forward to accepting the challenge of learning new skills, and activities. By increasing their experiences, and giving them more opportunities to be active, the students will continue to increase their fitness scores, and maintain their desire to stay healthy.
