This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello! I am a teacher in an urban school setting. I teach 26 very sweet and appreciative 4th grade students. My proposal is about 1 essential item: paper. You might think, "Why is PAPER so essential?" Well, with a ream of paper, endless learning opportunities can happen. With paper, my students will be able to: receive QUALITY and essential homework, notices to keep parents involved and informed, exciting writing projects, science lab reports, reading comprehension projects/practice, fluency practice for home,copies of maps for social studies fluency, grammar support, spelling support, math practice, a chance to make flashcards, illustrations...the list could go on and on. In my district, we have very few textbooks and even with a book, more is needed. I teach at-risk children who come from poverty in many cases and believe it or not, paper is a luxury for them. As a teacher, having enough paper allows me to keep the same level of learning in the classroom continuing at home. This is the key to learning for so many of our students. We get a very limited supply of paper each year. Your gift of paper will ensure ALL THE LEARNING on the list above actually gets done. Imagine the possibilities!
