A Picture is Worth More Than 1000 Words

My Web Design students need 9 Kodak digital cameras. While these are not top of the line, they will work for the simple pictures that the Web Design students want to take. I have one personal camera that I bring to school that 20-25 students have to share. It makes it difficult to go out in the school for students to take pictures for their web sites.

All text Web Sites are BORING! My students want pictures - Remember a picture is worth a thousand words! I teach Business/Computers to grades 9-12. We are a low-economic status community with a majority of my students unable to go out to purchase a camera for the class.

Typically there are a few special education students with limited writing skills in my classes and for them to be able to take a picture to show what they want to express on their Web Sites would make their learning experience much more rewarding.

We need as many digital cameras as possible for my students to get the most out of Web Design. You can only go so far with a digital camera that belongs to the teacher.

I wanted to chose a project that would benefit my students. Several Web Design students have gone on to take jobs for individuals and small businesses to create their web sites.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
