My students need 12 science manipulatives including rock and mineral samples, fossil kits, magnets, and a barometer.

Science can be exciting! I teach all subjects in a 4th grade class of high poverty level students, half of whom are Native American.

I don't have funding to provide the students with the tools that make science exciting and memorable. Without these tools many students lack motivation to be active learners.

We are in need of collections of Metamorphic, Sedimentary,and Igneous rocks. Additionally we need sets of minerals and fossils. All of these would be used by the students to sort and classify. We also need fossil molds, magnets, and an animal classifying card set to use as manipulatives with our science lessons. Finally, we are in need of a Scientist Barometer and Digital Thermo-Hygrometer so that the students can collect and record weather data. These manipulatives and tools of science will help the students understand and remember what they learn!

You will make it possible for students who have formerly been disinterested in science to realize that it can be interesting and worth their time. They may even decide that it can be an excellent future career!
