I Can Make Difference

My students need 1 copy of each of 8 books about generosity and giving for our classroom library as well as a class set of green composition books in order to further our education of "We Can Make a Difference".

I believe my 3rd grade class could make a difference. I want to teach the importance of giving and generosity to my students. I want for them to become generous adults. I feel my students as well as many children today have a self-centered attitude simply because they have not had proper education on generosity. I am so excited to share this theme with my students and I truly feel we can all make an impact on the future.

Our school is going through a budget crisis. We do not have money to spend on themes such as this. But, I feel this theme is important because of the economic crisis. We can make a difference by giving of ourselves in other ways. Generosity doesn't always take money.

The books I ordered will help me, as a teacher, extend the generosity thinking out to them in an interesting way. The green composition books will be used as My Giving Notebooks where the students will record stories in which they were generous and share with others. We will use these notebooks as springboards for more ideas on how to give to others.

Your generous gift will ensure that my students as well as myself, have the classroom resources we need to get our theme of giving off and running. I feel we can make a difference one step at a time, one child at a time, each day. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal!
