Students need 40 copies of "The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart in order to participate in premiering an exciting book club for fourth and fifth graders.

Here's your chance to inspire enthusiastic learners to think, evaluate, and take part in an extraordinary experience of social interaction and enriched reading! I teach gifted and talented students grades 3-5. The students are enthusiastic and LOVE to learn! They need to be challenged and encouraged to think outside the box in learning and leadership. They also need higher level books to sink their teeth into.

My students would be very encouraged by having their own copy of a higher level book. Reading it as a book club will help them with comprehension, communication, and foster a greater love of reading. The book is about a gifted children who take on a secret mission. It tells of the problems and quirks of gifted students and tests their higher level thinking skills with "out of the box" problems to solve throughout the story. It promises to be a great adventure.

I will need 40 copies of the book "The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart. The book is challenging and highly entertaining. A book club is the hook to draw readers together. Several clubs will be formed, with an average of 8 students in each club. The book clubs will be held both during and after school. It is planned that this idea would set a precedent and become a favorite activity for students as we choose other books to explore. It is expected to be a catalyst to spark a reading explosion!

Your help will support the groundwork in beginning a book club that will impact many students in the years to come. When students are able to share their reading in a book club setting, their reading is enhanced and they become so excited about books! It is important that students learn to evaluate and share their reading experience. Your donation would enable us to begin the process. Thank you very much.
