I am a high school media coordinator and a member of our school's leadership team. Our school is rural and small, serving 670 students. As a staff, we deal with societal issues such as teen pregnancy and drug abuse. The goal of this project is to provide our students with encouragement and self-help tips that will enable them to face the challenges of everyday life. We would appreciate any donation amount.

Our students face obstacles every day of their lives. Many come from impoverished families. Exposure to peer pressure and societal pressure influence behaviors. We strive to show our students successful ways to deal with life. Currently, we provide leadership classes, enhancement periods, Big Brother/Big Sister peer counseling and adult/student counseling to help students.

We would also like to provide our students with inspiring biographies and self-help books. Currently, we have less than 6000 books in our media center. Less than 50 of these books fall in this category.

Your help will provide our students with alternative methods of dealing with their problems. Making good choices and good decisions will have a positive impact on theirs lives and on our community.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
