Held twice a month, these 35-minute painting sessions give students a much-needed creative break during the school day. With the brushes, acrylic paints, mini canvases, art paper, and other supplies your donation provided, I've been able to welcome 20–25 students per session—far more than I ever expected, with demand increasing every time.\r\n\r\nThe first day we used the canvases was pure, happy chaos—students couldn't wait to get started! As soon as the paint hit the canvas, the room grew quiet with focus, laughter, and encouragement. One of my favorite things is seeing students pick up their finished artwork the next day. Some even gift their mini masterpieces to teachers to hang in classrooms. These little acts of creation and sharing go far beyond the paint.\r\n\r\nEach session begins by gathering supplies while looking at the painting we'll do for the day. Then I let Bob Ross take over on the screen, his calm voice guiding students through the joy of painting. But the experience has become about more than just art—it's become a space of connection. I've seen a new side to my students. I've met students I don't teach. I've watched baseball players, wrestlers, ESL students with limited English proficiency, and first-time painters sit side-by-side, encouraging each other and enjoying the process. Some paint along with Bob; others create their own vision. All are welcomed and valued.\r\n\r\nOne student, Ja'liyah, said, \"This Recharge has a special place in my heart. I've loved painting for a while, and I encourage anyone deciding if this Recharge is for you—CHOOSE IT.\" Karlee told me, \"These sessions helped me feel connected with my peers and know that painting doesn't always have to be perfect.\" And Carson shared, \"Mini Bob Ross painting is something that helps relax me during my busy school day. It's something I look forward to every week.\" Nicole uses this as a \"wonderful opportunity to explore and unwind. I don't take the time or have the resources to do this on my own, so Mini Bob Ross Recharge gives me a chance to connect with my friends over art.\" \r\n\r\nPersonally, this project has been a gift. I've always loved the process of creating something from nothing, and The Joy of Painting was a favorite childhood memory. Seeing it come full circle—and watching teenagers take pride in their own creativity—has made me appreciate my role as a teacher in a whole new way.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. Your donation gave my students a new way to express themselves and gave me the chance to witness their joy, curiosity, and imagination in action.","fullyFundedDate":1739543176234,"projectUrl":"project/recharge-with-mini-bob-ross/8945573/","projectTitle":"Recharge with Mini Bob Ross","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Everette","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1774798"},{"teacherId":6755067,"projectId":8886576,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my classroom has been transformed in the most amazing way! The resources you helped provide have made a tremendous impact on my students and our daily learning experience.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new resources in a variety of ways. For example, during a recent life skills unit, we created a \"mini market\" where students used our new tools to practice real-world math, budgeting, and communication skills. Watching them collaborate, take turns being the cashier or customer, and build confidence through hands-on learning was absolutely priceless.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us.
