I teach Social Studies and Math to 6th grade students. I also teach in the pullout program for our gifted and talented students. Our school district is a small rural district. Many of our students aren't afforded the opportunity of using technology at home. Their only exposure to current technology is at school.

Illinois schools are faced with a school funding crisis. There are obvious inequities throughout the state. Living in downstate Illinois our schools have learned to get by without. Our students need the opportunities to compete with all other students in the state.

My classroom needs a digital camera to record moments in class and outside of the classroom setting. Students need this technology in order to utilize the limited technology we have.

This camera will not only create a digital impression depicting the lives of the students, but it will also create an impression in their hearts and souls as well. It gives them the ability to be like other students.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
