Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach reading and writing to fifty enthusiastic second graders in a Title I school in Colorado.

They love to read but many of them do not have books at home. I often hear that they cannot complete their reading logs because they cannot afford the books necessary to read for 30 minutes a night.

Having Fly Guy books to keep at home will put high interest books in the hands of these willing readers. They will be able to read, reread and read again about the crazy adventures of Fly Guy in the comfort of their own home, all the while becoming better readers!

Your help will not only help this generation of 2nd graders but their little brothers and sisters as well as the older siblings read to the younger siblings.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
