I teach 5th grade in a very diverse school in a city setting. We celebrate the diversity of every student.

I am a new teacher. When I moved into my classroom this summer, I found a limited and outdated selection of classroom reference materials.

My students are incredible. They thoroughly enjoy learning and take pride in looking up words that they do not have or use in their current vocabulary. I also must mention that they take great pride in the books that they read or use, being careful to use bookmarks, not to make any marks on pages, and returning books to the shelf when not being used. I would love to have a good classroom set of dictionaries for them to use regularly.

As a teacher, I would love to be able to provide every possible material in order to enhance their learning. Unfortunately, this is financially feasible. Being a new teacher, I am building my classroom library, adding learning aids, etc. My students are wonderful individuals. I look forward to seeing them every day.
