Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second grade special education teacher in a Title I school which is located in the Bronx, New York. I firmly believe that children must be exposed to the wonders of computers. What I would like to do this year is teach photo and video editing to my class. This would be better taught on a kid friendly computer. The Macintosh computer is known for its easy maneuverability. From a creative standpoint, Macs are the best. I envision my kids making year end projects involving their 2nd grade highlights. My class will be doing a lot of wonderful things during the school year, such as class trips, reading celebrations and the school assemblies for outstanding student of the month. To be able to allow my students to create their own masterpieces as final projects would excite them beyond words. Another bonus to having a Mac notebook is the availability of skill building CD's that are already in my classroom. Could you imagine a child being able to see a book come to life on a Mac notebook? The children will be able to listen to the words while they follow the words on the screen. This would be a fantastic learning experience for my special education students. Please allow my awesome and creative students to experience technology. The Apple computer will allow them to achieve their goals and make a group of city kids ecstatic! Thank you for your consideration.
