"I have been the General/Vocal Music Specialist in my elementary school for 15 years. My school is located in the heart of an urban school district where many of my students have challenges outside of the school building. Being a Music Specialist means that I am lucky enough to teach 20 classes of students each week, approximately 400 students.
I am constantly looking for exciting and creative ways to engage my students in the learning process. I feel that it is important for all children to become technologically literate. Since most of my students do not have access to current technology at home, I would love to use this technology with my students in my classroom.
My students are always excited to share what they have learned in Music Class with students in the building as well as their families. Unfortunately, there is not always enough time to share their hard work with others. With the Flipcam that we are looking to acquire, we will be able to record and share our musical creations on video and the internet with families and other classrooms in our school community.
Another important use of the Flipcam will be in student self-assessment. One of the Music Standards for the State of Connecticut and our city is for the students to evaluate musical performances. What could be better than having the students evaluate their own performances?
With your help, my students will take pride in sharing their creativity with many others. My students need one Flipcam to use in Music Class to help them share their creativity, as well as perform self-assessments. HIDELive Updates
