My students need 4 fish tanks and 4 tropical fish sets to explore the life cycle of fishes. The fish tanks will go to four different Kindergarten classrooms. The study of the goldfish is a major part of our science curriculum.

I teach kindergarten in an inner city urban school. Our students are independent in most things because they have to be. They need skills in responsibility related to kid related activities.
It is difficult to purchase fish tanks for over a hundred kindergarten students due to purchasing much needed tools for the classroom such as pencils, crayons and glue. We need the help of others to make this project and years to come successful.
The fish and fish tank will help our students understand the life cycle of a fish. The need for shelter, water, food and someone to take care of them is important. The sciences can be explored through the process of knowing the parts of a fish and taking care of them.
This project should be supported because it fosters at a young age the love for sciences it promotes scientific thinking through the process of inquiry. One of these kindergarten students may want to become a scientist!
