The materials have helped increase student engagement, communication, and independence throughout the school day. Seeing their pride and willingness to engage made the experience incredibly meaningful for our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were extremely excited and eager to explore everything right away. Many of them immediately wanted to touch, organize, and begin using the materials during centers and group activities. Since my classroom supports students with autism and developmental delays, visual and hands-on resources are especially motivating for them. The new materials created a renewed excitement for learning, and students were smiling, asking questions, and fully engaged from the moment everything was introduced.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are continuing to build independence, communication, and academic confidence through structured routines and engaging lessons. We are currently focusing on reading comprehension, functional communication, math problem-solving, and social-emotional skills. These resources will continue supporting differentiated instruction so students can practice skills at their individual levels while remaining actively involved with their peers. We are also working on increasing independence during classroom routines and transitions, and the new materials are helping students practice these important life and school readiness skills every day.","fullyFundedDate":1774927838506,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-basics-that-build-bright-futur/10121533/","projectTitle":"Classroom Basics That Build Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8567343_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686101542404","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8567343"},{"teacherId":5542156,"projectId":10021607,"letterContent":"Your support has truly made a difference in our classroom in ways that go far beyond \r\nthe materials themselves. From the moment the hats and snacks arrived, my students were excited and grateful. Many of them immediately put their hats on, smiling and showing them off to their classmates. It may seem like a small thing, but for my students, having something warm and new that belongs to them builds confidence and a sense of care. The snacks have quickly become part of our daily routine, whether it's a quick breakfast in the morning or a midday reset, they help students stay focused, calm, and ready to learn. I've already noticed fewer disruptions tied to hunger and more engagement during lessons.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stood out was during a recent small group activity. After having a snack break, my students were able to stay regulated and fully participate in a reading discussion. They were asking questions, building on each other's ideas, and truly engaging with the text. It reinforced just how important it is to meet their basic needs first, when they feel comfortable and cared for, they are able to show up as their best selves academically and socially.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue to build these supports into our classroom structure. My goal is to maintain a consistent, safe, and nurturing environment where students know their needs will be met. This allows us to dive deeper into our academic goals, including strengthening reading comprehension and problem-solving skills through collaborative projects and discussions. Because of your generosity, my students are not only warmer and nourished, they are more confident, more focused, and more ready to succeed. Because of you, my students have access to resources that go far beyond academics and help meet their everyday needs.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were full of excitement and curiosity. As soon as they saw the snacks and care kits, their faces lit up with joy. For many of them, these items represented comfort, care, and a sense of being valued. It was a powerful moment one where they realized that people they have never met truly care about their well-being and success.\r\n\r\nLiving in Pittsburgh, we experienced some extremely cold winter days. Because of your generosity, I was able to bless students with hats and gloves from the care kits. We kept the bags at the front door, and as students came in each morning, we were able to give them the items they needed. Many of our students walk to school, so these small acts made a huge difference. They were incredibly thankful, and it was heartwarming to see them feel cared for and supported the moment they walked into the building.\r\n\r\nWe have already begun using the resources in meaningful ways. The snacks have been especially helpful during our extended learning blocks and testing preparation. One specific moment that stood out was during a recent math intervention session. Students who typically struggle to stay focused were more engaged and motivated, knowing they would have a snack break afterward. This small incentive made a big difference in both their stamina and attitude toward learning.\r\n\r\nThe winter care kits were equally impactful beyond just meeting physical needs. We took time as a class to talk about self-care, responsibility, and gratitude. Students were able to organize their items and discuss how to take care of themselves during the colder months. This turned into a social-emotional learning moment where students shared ways they help care for themselves and their families.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue incorporating these resources into our daily routines and classroom projects. As we prepare for upcoming assessments, the snacks will be used to support focus and reward effort. Additionally, we are beginning a \"Kindness and Community\" project where students will reflect on the generosity they've received and create thank-you cards and messages to give back to others. This will help them understand the importance of empathy, gratitude, and paying it forward.\r\nBecause of your generosity, my classroom is not only a place of learning but also a space where students feel supported, cared for, and motivated to do their best. You have made a meaningful difference in their lives, and for that, I thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1769274046121,"projectUrl":"project/caring-kits-comfort-snacks-for-our-cla/10050266/","projectTitle":"Caring Kits & Comfort Snacks for Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pope","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6558785_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1563979595375","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6558785"},{"teacherId":9493823,"projectId":9916729,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our classroom.
