How many times did you use your computer today? Once, twice, ten times? We are all so dependent on our computers. But not everyone has that privilege. I work in a diverse school. Some of my kids are on their home computers several times a day. But unfortunately, for many of my students the classroom computer is their only opportunity to access a computer.

Our school is faced with the constant struggle to keep up with technology needs. Computers are expensive and they continually need to be replaced. My hope is to help with that endeavor. I am always finding amazing ways to integrate technology into our curriculum. There are great video clips available online. There is a new web site that helps readers track and share their reading history and reading plan. There are programs to help my struggling writers. The possibilities are endless. But the funds are not.

One desktop computer can make a world of difference in a classroom. My students will be able to research their assignments on the Internet, publish their stories, view video footage to deepen their understanding of content, and much more.

My request is a large one, I realize that. I am asking for a desktop computer that will be used by my 28 fourth graders. They are deserving of such a generous gift. It will be put to good use. You can make it possible. You can give computer access to those who need it most- the kids.
