Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"A place for everything and everything in its place" is a phrase I heard very often in my home. There was a sense of security in those words. When I wanted something, I knew where to find it. So many of my 5th grade students need that organization and sense of security. It is important for them to come into a classroom and feel ownership and a calmness in knowing where things are and having the resources readily available to them so that they may be productive individuals.

Many of our students are transient on a yearly basis. Basically, that means there is no guarantee or assurance that the students I have in the beginning of the year will be the same group by the end and/or that they will remain to complete the following academic year. That is why it is vital that their experience in my classroom is memorable (belonging). They deserve it.

My plan has several parts and I ask that you help with the small beginnings. First I want to organize my classroom with a shelf and bins and later to fill the space with experiences.

Your generous giving will provide a space where students know where things are located and feel free to use materials located throughout the classroom.
