I am a multi-grade special education teacher at a Title 1 school. This year I have the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of students who value education and are working hard to master their goals and objectives. As an educator I have always tried to include some form of technology -- whether through the use of the WebTV or mobile lab that we have available at my school -- to get my students ready for state testing. However,it is sometimes a challenge to reserve the equipment that is needed to enhance my lessons. It is my belief that with the appropriate technology I can make a difference in my students' lives and increase their motivation to learn and their retention of information. In order to make my lessons meaningful and have the resources needed readily available, my class is in need of an LCD projector for our classroom. With this projector I will be able to model new concepts, play video clips, and complete test preparation lessons as a whole class. All students will be able to participate in a single session, instead of breaking it up into many lessons or having them huddle around a single computer. Your help will ensure that my students are prepared to meet the challenges that lie ahead. Also, it will give me the opportunity to present them many memorable lessons.
