The bright-colored paper and glue sticks you provided are helping my students create interactive math notebooks that make learning more engaging, organized, and meaningful.\r\n\r\nMy students use these materials to build their math interactive notebooks as we learn new concepts. Instead of simply copying notes, they cut, fold, glue, organize, and create interactive pieces that allow them to refer back to important math strategies and vocabulary. These notebooks are becoming personal learning tools that students can use during class, independent practice, and review.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the bright-colored paper, they were excited about using the different colors to create their notebooks. They loved that their math work could be colorful and creative rather than looking like a traditional notebook. The glue sticks have also allowed them to securely attach foldables, examples, vocabulary pieces, and other hands-on activities to their pages.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are continuing to build our interactive notebooks as we move through our 5th-grade math lessons. Our next steps are to add new strategies, examples, vocabulary, and student-created reference tools as we introduce each concept. As the year progresses, students will have a complete math resource they can use to review skills, prepare for assessments, and remind themselves of strategies they have learned.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students aren't just creating notebooks—they are creating a personal math resource that belongs to them. We first crafted bookmarks and Fall picture frames. Our kids enjoyed sharing the stickers and bling at their tables to make their own unique creation. We also used the cones to make cornucopia with fruit to talk about Thanksgiving.\r\n \r\n We used the Stockings and decorated with their name with paints and hung up. They also made Gingerbread house picture frame to hang on their tree and again they loved using the provided stickers to make it their own. We have started using the pencils in learning to write sentences and short stories. We are using the stickers and candy as rewards for doing good work and learning sight words. We have 16 out of 21 of our students on track for sight words this year!\r\n\r\n We are going into creative holiday season and will be using the paint to create fun projects while still learning.
