Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Help my kids sculpt that "Funky" chicken. I teach art to pk-8 students in a large mid-western city in Illinois. I want to inspire my students to create a "fantasy" sculpture using the art work of Marc Chagall as inspiration.

My schools resources are very limited. There is a tremendous amount of political pressure centered on improving standardized test scores and very little money is allocated to the art program as a result.

My students need a variety of sculpture supplies to create sculpted fantasy birds. They will examine the art work of Marc Chagall and discuss how "fantasy" can affect the appearance of artwork. They will learn about planning a work, making an armature, mixing and applying paint, and a variety of problem solving skills as they embellish there work, and personal reflection skills as they critique the final product.

Please help my kids "Dance the Funky Chicken" with glee when they find out that they will be able to do this sculpture project as a result of your generosity.
