I am a Kindergarten teacher at a high-need community school. Nearly 80% of our students are on free or reduced lunch.

As a teacher, I am faced with the dilemma of not enough supplies for all my students, parents can't help out, not enough money on the budget, and a small salary that won't allow me to buy the materials needed. We are expected to teach writing at such an early age but unfortunately, we do not have the resources to help us with everything we are required to teach.

I need 6 sets of Write & Wipe markers, 3 sets of Double-sided Learn to Print, Write & Wipe Boards, 6 Build-A-Story Flipbooks for small group activity which provides mini-lessons in writing (character, setting, problem, solution, conclusion), 3 sets of My First Draw & Write journals to develop their creativity in writing, and 3 Read, Write & Spell Sight Words sets for small group activity which will help my students learn how to spell and write words which ultimately will help them become better writers. These materials present the writing process and forms of writing in a clear and friendly format to help students build the skills they need for writing success. In addition these materials introduce and reinforce key concepts for each student. Students will benefit because they will get to learn the six traits of writing and be able to apply their skills by practicing how to write sentences on dry-erase boards and journals everyday and building stories. Writing is a such an essential skill necessary for their success in the grades ahead.

Your help will ensure that my Kindergartners start on the right track to writing success and improve the academic achievement of disadvantaged students.
