"We are looking for ways to increase our love of writing!
I am currently an Exceptional Children's teacher / Interventionist working with kindergarten through fifth grade students in an inner-city public school. My students come from limited resources and look to my classroom for ways to improve their knowledge. Many of my students come to me with learning disabilities, medical diagnosis', and are all working below grade level in some academic area.
Currently the students within my school are performing well below grade level in the area of written language. They have difficulty creating work samples and struggle putting together a cohesive written product. I am constantly looking for fun ways to increase their love of writing and for ways to hook them into the written language.
The resources that I currently need to make my dreams a reality include a writing center and various journals. These items will show students another way to build writing skills that vary from the same way they have used for their short years of schooling. The journals can be their own personal book for maintaining thoughts, ideas and stories that they create on their own.
By donating these items to my classroom, you will help bring a new sense of joy for writing to each of my students. You will make it possible for my students to see that the learning of writing skills can take place in many forms.
My students need writing journals and a writing center in order to increase their love of written expression.

Dear Kate, Vicki Brown, Shannon, Aimee, Jinan and Anonymous Donor,
I wish to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to you for helping fund my project. These items will be used on a regular basis with my learning disabled students. Due to working in a lower income school, I do not always have the opportunity to have new materials in my classroom. My students will be very excited to learn about the future arrival of new writing materials that will help them grow academically. Thank you again for your support of my classroom!
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.
