I am a first grade teacher and in the fall, when I get a new group of students, their reading abilities vary. The students that are more challenging to find books for are my higher readers. It is difficult to find books that will be appealing to them that are also on their reading level, and age appropriate. I recently came across the Mercy Watson Collection. These books are very funny and entertaining for young readers. It would be great to have a set to help keep these high readers loving and motivated to read! These books are an early chapter book that will be able to be used throughout the school year for all students. It will serve as their stepping stone into more difficult chapter books.
