I teach at a Title One public school in Florida. I currently teach 2nd grade and will be moving to 4th grade for the 2008-2009 school year. This project is designed for both my current 2nd graders and my upcoming 4th graders, depending on when the funding is complete. Our average class size is 18 children. Our school is in a high needs area with the majority of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

Technology is all around us in the world and in order for us to secure our future in this world, we need to have opportunities to access technology and use it in order to learn and communicate. Unfortunately we do not all have access to the technology that we need at home, and our resources at school are limited.

The only resource I need, besides our eagerness to begin, is a digital video recorder. We want to make classroom movies in order to enhance our learning. We wan to use our movies as a way for the "world" to see what we can do. Our movies will document our learning and will reinforce curriculum concepts. The movie making process will also encourage teamwork as we work together to write scripts, edit, and produce our movies.

Help to prepare us for the future in a world where one is empowered by technology. Your support will make the difference and we promise not to let you down. When our movies are made and linked to our website, we will be sure to include a special thank to our donors in our rolling credits. Thank you for considering funding our project.
