Reliving Henry Ford's Assembly 2050

My students need a Cube 3D Printer with five cartridges to build their model car after they design it. They will write a proposal of their car, build an electric engine, and design car body on CAD.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is a non-traditional classroom. I have all the 'at-risk' students that most teachers don't want. They are 'My Babies!' and I will educate them by ANY means necessary! Our classroom motto is simply: 'NO EXCUSES!!'

My students are classified as 'At-Risk' general education high-school students, Their reading and math levels are approximately 3-5 grade levels behind.

My students are afforded an opportunity to obtain a High School diploma in which they would find difficult if remained in a traditional classroom setting. My students display Psycho-social and educational barriers that can be mitigated through individualized, hands-on, project-based learning. They learn how to collaborate with others, job-skills, problem-solving skills and perseverance. My school is locate in the inner-city and is 99.9% reduced lunch. Majority of the school population has not been outside of their neighborhoods. Students are eager to learn but face many barriers to learning. My class buffers those factors and replaces it with success factors where students can gain hope and self-confidence to spread their wings to evolve.

My Project

My students need a Cube 3D Printer eith five cartridges,to build their model car after they design it. They will write a proposal of their car, build an electric engine, and design car body on CAD My students are not the traditional classroom learners. They learn hands-on. Currently, they are learning simple software programming and are very engaged. The next step is for them to draft a proposal of a vehicle , build engine, program engine to maneuver and CAD a body for the vehicle. My students will become very engaged and accountable for their learning if they can actually see their product come to life! The 3-D printer will provide this vision for them. They will enter into designing contests and the end result is to mentor them to become engineers. My students will learn through inter-disciplinary subjects: They will learn mathematical applications, ;physics of motions, writing through designing and history of industry. My charge is to educate students to become productive citizens and to give back to their society.
