Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every Thursday afternoon, some of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade girls and boys stay after school and participate in the We Are Kings/ We Are Queens program.

The program is designed to "promote leadership, empowers boys and girls of color to become agents and advocates for more equitable practices in their schools.

The program provides assistance with healthy identity development, cultural affirmation, and social justice."

They meet after school every Thursday for an hour and a half. These snacks will provide an energy boost to help them remain focused and engaged, helping them achieve the program's mission. They work on team-building challenges, anti-bullying activities, and fundraisers for the school. These boys and girls become leaders and mentors at the school for students of all ages. It promotes a positive image and gives them a purpose at school, aside from learning and growing. These snacks will ensure they have the energy to give 100% every week.
