Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting noise-canceling headphones, stress balls, sensory toys, calming tools, and other sensory supports that will provide students with appropriate ways to manage sensory input and reduce distractions. These items are not simply classroom “extras”—they are tools that can help my students regulate, refocus, and remain engaged in learning.

My goal is to create a classroom environment where every student feels supported and understands that needing a sensory break or calming tool is okay.

With these resources, students can develop self-regulation skills, increase their independence, and spend more time engaged in instruction rather than overwhelmed by their environment.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
