My Project

My students are amazing K–2 learners in a self-contained exceptional children’s classroom. Each child comes to school with unique strengths, needs, and ways of learning. They work incredibly hard, and I love watching their confidence grow when they are given opportunities to learn in ways that are engaging, hands-on, and meaningful to them.

The light table and manipulatives in this project will provide my students with exciting multisensory opportunities to practice important early math, literacy, fine-motor, and problem-solving skills.

The bright, hands-on materials will encourage exploration while helping students stay engaged in learning for longer periods of time. We will use the light table during small groups, learning centers, and individualized instruction to practice skills such as counting, sorting, patterns, letter and number recognition, and more.

The markers, colored tape, and laminating supplies will allow me to create additional visual supports and durable, reusable learning activities that can be individualized for each student’s needs. These materials will help transform everyday lessons into interactive experiences where my students can learn through seeing, touching, creating, and exploring.

Most importantly, this project will give my students another place where learning can feel exciting and successful. Every child deserves the opportunity to shine, and these resources will help my little learners do just that!
