The bins are being used to help organize our toys, which teaches children categorization skills and self-help skills. \r\n\r\nSeeing their little faces light up at toys and experiences that speak to them and their interests mean the world to me. Your generosity has brought so much excitement, curiosity, and hands-on learning into our classroom!\r\n\r\nMy students learn best when they can touch, explore, see, and experience the world around them. These new resources have given my boys opportunities to learn through their senses while building important skills like communication, fine motor development, problem-solving, and social interaction.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things has been watching their excitement as they explore the materials. For some of my boys, it was the light table and its accessories that immediately caught their attention. For others, it was looking through the science viewfinders and discovering something new! The textured letters and numbers allow them to feel what they are learning, while the wooden puzzles encourage problem-solving and those important little victories that we celebrate so much in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur sand sensory bin and sequin wall panels have also given my boys opportunities to explore different textures while working on sensory regulation and fine motor skills. The noise-canceling headphones provide a little peace and quiet for those who sometimes find the world around them overwhelming. They have also proven to be very beneficial on recent field trips. Every one of these resources serves a purpose, and each one helps meet my boys right where they are.\r\n\r\nWe are incorporating these materials into our daily learning rotations, sensory exploration, and individual learning activities. As we move forward, we will continue using them to strengthen letter and number recognition, encourage communication, practice taking turns, build independence, and help my boys feel confident in their abilities.\r\n\r\nWhat may look like simple play to someone else is actually meaningful learning for my students. Sometimes progress looks like recognizing a letter, completing a puzzle, trying a new texture, or simply being comfortable enough to participate in an activity. In our classroom, those little moments are BIG accomplishments!\r\n\r\nThe greatest gift you have given my students is so much more than classroom materials. You have given them opportunities to experience success in ways that work for them.
