Pete the Cat: Building a Love of Reading

Help me give my students new Pete the Cat books to provide new and fun books to read and love!

My Project

Every child deserves to find a book that makes them excited to read, and Pete the Cat has become a favorite among our elementary students! This project will provide our school library with a collection of Pete the Cat books that will appeal to beginning readers and students who are developing their confidence and fluency.

Pete’s positive attitude, humor, colorful illustrations, and relatable adventures make these books especially engaging for young readers.

The collection will include a variety of Pete the Cat stories and beginning-reader books, giving students opportunities to choose books that match their interests and reading abilities.

These books will be available for students to check out and enjoy at school and at home. They will also be used during library lessons, independent reading, read-alouds, and to encourage students who may be hesitant about reading. Having high-interest books readily available can help students develop stronger reading habits while building vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency.

With your support, our library can give students more opportunities to say, “It’s all good!” while discovering the joy of reading with Pete the Cat. Thank you for helping us fill our library shelves with books that children are excited to pick up and read!
