This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third-grade students are curious, energetic learners who thrive when they have opportunities to actively participate in their learning. Math is a big part of our daily routine, and I want my students to see it as more than numbers on a worksheet. My goal is to build their confidence and strengthen their math skills by giving them different ways to practice, collaborate, and solve problems.

These materials will help turn our daily math practice into an engaging, hands-on experience.

Whiteboards and dry-erase markers will allow students to solve problems, show their thinking, and participate during our daily spiral review. Multiplication games will make practicing math facts more interactive and enjoyable, while rulers and paper will support measurement, problem-solving, and independent practice. A rolling storage cart will help keep our math materials organized and easily accessible so students can make the most of our learning time.

In addition, the classroom chair will provide another comfortable learning space that students can use during independent work, small-group activities, and reading. With these resources, I hope to create an organized and welcoming classroom where my students feel excited to practice, learn from their mistakes, and become confident mathematicians—one problem at a time!
