My Project

As a new school year begins, my goal is to create an inclusive, supportive high school math classroom where every student can succeed. I teach resilient, hardworking students who are striving for a regular high school diploma while navigating significant learning challenges. To maximize comprehension and reach all learners, I blend high-tech tools with hands-on, low-tech strategies. Interactive notebooks are a core part of our daily routine, proven to boost student engagement, understanding, and overall achievement.

To set my students up for success from day one, I need to ensure our classroom is fully stocked with basic supplies.

Many of my students start the year unable to bring their own materials, and I want to eliminate that barrier immediately. We rely heavily on daily essentials like pencils, paper, and highlighters—which are critical for color-coding math concepts and building organized interactive notebooks. The use of whiteboards is also a daily activity in my classroom. Using the workshop model, students gather with whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. This allows me to immediately check for understanding while giving students an accessible, interactive way to show and share their work.
