My Project

My high school science students are curious, creative learners who thrive when they can actively engage with content, collaborate with their peers, and make their thinking visible. I want to create a classroom environment where students do more than receive information. They analyze data, solve problems, explain their reasoning, monitor their progress, and revise their thinking based on evidence.

The portable monitors will provide additional display space that students can use during collaborative investigations, data-analysis activities, research, and project-based learning.

Students will be able to view multiple sources of information at the same time, such as a data set alongside a graph, a digital simulation alongside their observations, or research sources alongside a collaborative document. During group work, the additional screens will also allow students to share and compare representations, evidence, and solutions without constantly switching between tabs or crowding around a single laptop screen.

These resources will also support students as they monitor their own academic progress. Students will be able to review assessment data and learning goals while simultaneously examining assignments, feedback, or examples of their work. This will help them identify areas of strength, recognize gaps in understanding, set goals, and determine their next steps for learning.

The dry-erase boards, markers, easel pads, and other collaborative materials will complement the technology by giving students spaces to make their thinking visible. Students can solve problems, create models, analyze evidence, revise ideas, and explain their reasoning to classmates. These materials will help me create a science classroom where learning is active, collaborative, and responsive to student needs.

Together, these resources will give my students more opportunities to think critically, communicate their ideas, use evidence, reflect on their progress, and take greater ownership of their learning.
