My Project

Imagine walking into a classroom where you can immediately feel that you belong. A place where students can sit together, share ideas, ask questions, work through challenging problems, and simply feel comfortable being themselves.

That is the kind of learning environment I want to create for my students.

As an AIG/LIFT teacher, I work with students across multiple grade levels throughout the school year. My classroom is a place where students come together for small-group instruction, collaboration, creative thinking, problem-solving, discussion, and enrichment. Because students are constantly coming in and out of the room, I want it to feel welcoming, comfortable, and inviting; not just like another classroom they pass through during their school day.

I am hoping to add a classroom rug to create a designated space where students can gather and learn together. A rug may seem like a simple classroom item, but it can completely change how a space feels. It gives students a comfortable place to sit during group discussions, read, brainstorm, collaborate, or work through a challenging task together.

For my students, learning doesn't always happen best while sitting at a desk. Sometimes the best conversations happen when we are gathered together on the floor, sharing an idea, debating a solution, laughing over a mistake, or having that “aha!” moment together.

Thank you for helping me create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, sharing their thinking, and discovering just how much they are capable of doing.
