This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space for students to come when they need a moment to calm down, regroup, and refocus. As a behavior specialist, I want to recognize that sometimes behaviors in school are connected to basic needs, especially hunger. Many of the families we serve face financial challenges, so I want to provide students with access to snacks and a comfortable space where they can reset without feeling embarrassed or judged. This project will support students’ emotional and behavioral needs while helping them return to class ready to learn, focus, and be successful.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
