My Project

Every year, our exceptional AIG students completely create, produce, film, star in, and edit our school’s morning news broadcast, The Weekly Dragon. This program is a staple of our school culture, keeping our community connected while allowing students to experience the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism. This year, our school district is converting to Apple products. We want to lean heavily into this transition by using iMovie to edit our show, but we completely lack the mobile studio equipment required to bring our high-tech ideas to life.

To produce a high-quality broadcast, our student crew needs an updated Apple iPad to record video and run the iMovie editing software.

We are also requesting a robust tripod setup with an integrated iPad mount to keep our shots stable, a studio ring light for clean professional illumination, and dual wireless lavalier microphones so our student anchors can be heard perfectly. We will also use the wireless Bluetooth microphones and speakers when conducting interviews and hosting interactive segments. Additionally, we are asking for a dedicated chroma-key green screen backdrop, which will allow our student editors to use artificial intelligence and iMovie software to remove and swap digital background sets seamlessly.

By funding this project, you aren't just buying electronics; you are funding a fully functional, student-led media production studio. Our creative Dragons will gain hands-on experience in video editing, audio mixing, digital design, and public relations. This equipment will empower our gifted learners to collaborate seamlessly within our new Apple ecosystem, ensuring The Weekly Dragon continues to inspire our entire school for years to come!
